The advanced search functionality is used to refine the search parameters.
It also provides search results based on the following three parameters.
- Criteria
- Scope
- Filter
Criteria
Specify how the search key words are to be treated. Three options are provided.
- Any Word: Pages with any word in search keyword specified are returned.
- Exact phrase: Only pages with the exact entered search key phrase are returned.
- All the words: Only pages with all the words in the entered keyword are returned.
By default SamePage does an "OR" search and returns results with pages having "ANY" of the keyword specified.

Filter
Filters are set to decide on the extent of the search. Multiple filters are used to further refine the scope of the search.

Content Type:
The 'Content' filter attribute restricts the scope of the search based on the following attributes:
- Pages
- News items
- Tickets
- Threads
- Attachments

The 'Project' filter attribute restricts the search to a selected list of projects.
A list of projects within the domain can be viewed by clicking the 'Select' link.
The default value for the project filter attribute is the current project.
in SamePage 4.0, 'Select' link provides a filter to list projects according to the value selected. The options are 'All Projects', 'My Projects' and 'Favorite Projects'. The default option is the one that is set to 'Project Filter' in 'My Settings -> Preferences'. The number of Projects displayed depends on the value of 'Items per page' in 'My Settings -> Preferences'.
Modified :
The 'Modified' filter attribute restricts the scope of a search to include content created or modified within a particular time frame.
The default time frame for the modified filter attribute is 'Any Time'. The following options are available for the modified filter attribute:
- Any Time
- Within the past 7 days
- Within the past 30 days
- Within the past 60 days
Modified By:
The 'Modified By' filter attribute can be used to restrict the scope of a search to include content created or modified by particular users.
A list of users registered within the domain can be viewed by clicking the 'Select' link.
The default value of the 'modified by' filter attribute is the current user name.
