A new alert can be created by clicking on the 'Create New Alert' link available on the alerts page.
A Create alert page opens where the administrator can enter the title, text, start date and end date of the alerts.
An alert can be set to expire on a specified date.
To make the alert active immediately choose the 'Make alert active now' option or to make the alert active at a later date, enter the date under that particular option given under start date.
The alert can be set to expire on a specified date or can be set never to expire by choosing the appropriate options under end date.
Click on submit to create and display the alert.
The Activation time and Expiry time can also be accurately set by entering the exact time(hours and minutes) in the provided spaces.
Note: The alert will be displayed to all users only on the date it is supposed to be made active, if it is made active at the time of creation then the alert will appear immediately to everyone.
