A blog (short for weblog) is a journal (or diary) maintained and frequently updated by an user.
Blogs Page
blogs can be viewed on the blogs page. The blogs page is displayed by selecting the blog option on the toolbar.
The blogs page is context-sensitive and displays different information for registered and anonymous users.
Only the following two panels are displayed for anonymous users:
- Recent Postings: Listing of all recent posts to blogs.
- Recently Updated blogs: Listing of all recently updated blogs.
The blogs page displays an additional My blogs panel for logged in users.
My Blogs
All blogs created by a user can be viewed on the 'My blogs' panel. This panel is displayed on the blogs page for logged in users.
The 'My blogs' panel provides options to view blog posts from different perspectives. It appears different to the publisher and the audience.
This panel displays the following information for each blog:
- The particular's user permission for that blog. This is
in SamePage 3.5.
- Blog name
- time at which the blog was last updated
- the number of posts it contains
This panel also displays self-explanatory icons and buttons for the following tasks:
- adding a post to a blog
- deleting a blog (Applicable only to Blog owners and blog administrators)
- exporting a blog (Applicable only to Blog owners and blog administrators)
- creating a blog
To view the contents of a blog, click the name of a blog from the list of blogs. The post page for the blog is displayed, listing all posts within that blog.
To view details of a blog as it appears to an external audience, click the 'View blog' link associated with the blog. A customized view of the post page is displayed.
To create a new post within a blog, click on the 'Add Post' icon
. Create the new post using the displayed WYSIWYG editor.
To create a blog, click the 'Create blog' button.

Recent Postings
Recent posts to all blogs in a domain, can be viewed on the 'Recent Postings' panel. This panel is available on the blogs page.
This panel is context-sensitive and displays different information for registered and anonymous users. It displays only posts approved for a public audience, when the blogs page is viewed by anonymous users. The recent postings panel appears below the 'Search blogs' text box, when the blogs page is viewed by a registered user.
The list of recent posts shown on this panel can also be subscribed to as an RSS feed.
To see the details of any post listed on the recent postings panel, click the link to the selected post. The 'Post Detail' page for the selected post is displayed.
Recently Updated Blogs
Recently updated blogs within a domain can be viewed on the 'Recently Updated Blogs' panel. This panel is available on the blogs page.
This panel is context-sensitive and displays different information for registered and anonymous users. It displays only posts approved for a public audience, when the blogs page is viewed by anonymous users. The recently updated blogs panel appears below the 'Search Blogs' text box, when the blogs page is viewed by a registered user.
To see the details of any blog listed on the recently updated blogs panel, click the link to the selected blog. The post listing page of that blog is displayed.
