Templates are pre-designed pages that primarily have detailed specifications about page style, font and formatting that can be repetitively applied to pages within a project.
Pages derived from templates inherit a uniform layout and content structure, making it easier to ensure consistency in the look and feel of content created for a project.
In addition to content structure, templates can also be used to quickly populate similar content within pages.
The 'Choose Template' link allows any existing template to be applied to a page.
A selected template will be applied after confirmation from the user.
After a template is applied it can be further customized as required.
Templates can also be shared among projects in a domain.
The option to choose a template is available when the page is opened in the edit mode. The current page can be saved as a template for future use or a pre-existing template can be applied to the page.
To select a template from another project:
- Click the 'Show Projects' link on the choose template window.
- Select any of the available projects in the domain.
- Choose any of the listed templates within the selected project.
in SamePage 4.0, 'Show Projects' provides a filter to list projects according to the value selected. The options are 'All Projects', 'My Projects' and 'Favorite Projects'. The default option is the one that is set to 'Project Filter' in 'My Settings -> Preferences'. The number of Projects displayed depends on the value of 'Items per page' in 'My Settings -> Preferences'.
