Pages can be deleted using the 'Delete' icon
or link on the top right side of the of the page when it is opened in edit mode. An option to delete is also available on the toolbar under the Actions section . The confirm deletion panel that is displayed, lists the page to be deleted, number of back links and an indication of whether the page will be permanently deleted . Back linked pages that are referenced by other pages cannot be deleted unless the links are redirected.
To delete a page:
- On the edit tab, click the delete icon.
- In the confirm deletion panel, click the delete button.
Pages that have no back links will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Pages that have back links will not be permanently deleted. They will remain in a temporarily deleted state until the referencing pages are themselves deleted or the links are removed or redirected.
Such pages can be recovered if required.
The confirm deletion panel also provides an optional comments field that can be used to type deletion comments.
For temporarily deleted pages, these deletion comments can be viewed in the page's history tab.
