The Domain Settings option can be accessed through Domain Administration on the Toolbar. This option is however available only to domain administrators.
Note: The Domain Settings option is applicable only for the On Demand(Hosted) or Multi-tenant (On-Premise) versions of SamePage .
The Domain Settings screen has three sections
The Service Type domain attribute is a pre-assigned value based on the issued domain license. Some example of service types:
30 days Evaluation
Note: The Service Type attribute cannot be configured by a domain administrator. This domain attribute can only be updated by upgrading or downgrading a domain license.
This section displays the user's company details that include the company name, address, city, state, country, company URL, and other contact details.
User domains can be personalized by configuring domain attributes with user-specific information. Only domain administrators have privileges to personalize a domain's attributes. Domain attributes can be configured under the 'Domain Settings' option available under the domain administration function.
The following domain permissions can be configured for each domain:
The 'Self Registration Allowed' domain attribute determines if anonymous users can register themselves in the current domain. The default value for this attribute is yes, permitting anonymous users to self-register.
A new domain user can be designated as active or inactive using the auto activation for self registration attribute. A user must be activated in order to self-register in a domain.
Domain Key for Self Registration
The 'Domain Key for Self Registration' attribute specifies a domain key for the domain. This option provides a means to restrict users who can register in a domain. The default configuration of a domain does not specify a domain key.
The domain key must be provided to all users permitted to register in a domain. A user will be required to provide this domain key when registering in a domain.
Auto Activation for Self Registration
The 'Auto Activation for Self Registration' attribute determines the activation status for new users registering in a domain. The default value for this attribute is set to yes.
Setting t his option to yes, en ables automatic activation of new domain users. Setting this option to no, disables automatic activation of users. Every new user registering in the current domain must be manually activated to obtain access to the domain.
The 'Domain Protected' attribute determines access privileges for the domain. The default value for this attribute is set to yes.
Setting this option to yes, does not permit anonymous users to view projects within the domain. Setting this option to no, permits anonymous users or guests to view projects within the domain.
Starting from SamePage 3.5, the domain administrator can choose to set the domain locale to any of the available locales from the drop down list. The UI will then be displayed in the chosen language for all domain users.
Allow Locale Override
The 'Allow locale override' when set to 'Yes' will allow users to change the locale as per their needs. When this is set to 'No' users will not be able to override the administrator's choice.
Locales can be set by users through the 'Preferences' page.
The supported locales gives a list of all locale that the domain will support. The administrator can choose to keep or remove certain options by clicking on the list.
For example from the attached screen shot, if the domain administrator chooses to remove 'French,France' just click on the list and un select the French,France' option and then click on 'Update'.
Domain administrators can choose to set a default navigation for their domain. This can be done by selecting the required navigation from the drop down list and then clicking on 'Update.'
Restrict navigation override
This is to specify whether end-users can choose their navigation. If you set this to No, end-users of your domain cannot set their own navigation preference.
Domain administrators can choose to set a default theme for their domain. This can be done by selecting the required theme from the drop down list and then clicking on 'Update.'
Restrict theme override
This is to specify whether end-users can choose their theme. If you set this to No, end-users of your domain cannot set their own theme preference.
Format for Date and Format for Date with Time
A default date format or date time format can be set by domain administrators for the entire domain through these fields. These fields take only a specific format of date or date-time. For more information on the date or date time formats click , or on the following link
The domain administrator can specify an email id here to which all the support email will be redirected. We highly recommend this field be set to an internal email id or the administrators email id as this will make the process faster and more efficient. Enter the email if to which the support email will be redirected and click on 'Update.'
Enable Social Bookmarking
Setting 'Yes' to this setting will display the Social Bookmarking link at the end of each page. Through this link pages can be bookmarked to an external website like Facebook, Digg, etc.
To enable this setting, select 'Yes' and then click on 'Update.'
Through this field, the domain administrator can set the number of days after which the password of users will expire. When this field is set to a particular number of days, say 10 for example, the user's password will expire is 10 days and they will be forced to reset it. The domain administrator should leave this field blank if he doesn't want the password to expire.
Max Attachment File Size
The domain administrator can choose the maximum size of the attachment file from the options provided in the drop-down box. The maximum size, however, cannot exceed the value set at the system level by the System Administrator. If the domain administrator do not select any value, it is set to the maximum size provided by the System Administrator at the system level. If no value is provided at the System level, the value defaults to 10 Mb.
Enable Page Rating
When set to 'Yes', page rating is enabled for pages of this domain.
Enable Explorer View
When set to 'Yes', the explorer view is enable for this domain.
User Search Base
This option will be available only if domains are integrated with LDAP for user authentication. In such a case this value can be set to the 'search base' where users should be searched for this domain.
Allow Issue Assignment
Starting from SamePage 4.3, Domain Administrator can restrict the members of the project from assigning the Issues to members of the project themselves. If the value for 'Allow Issue Assignment' is set to Yes, the members are allowed to assign the issues to other members. If the value is set to No, in that case domain admin/ project admin/system admin will assign the issues to members of the project. If at domain admin level 'Allow Issue Assignment' is set to 'Yes' , then at project level it it can be overridden with either 'yes' or 'no' value. But if at domain level the value is set to 'No', then it can not be overridden at project level at all. For more information on this see Issues.
