Pre-requisite
Before you get started, make sure you have installed and configured the following software:

• Oracle Database 9i/10g. If you do not have Oracle, here are instructions to download, install and configure the free Oracle 10g XE
• MySQL 5.0 Community server - Generally Available(GA) Release, here are the instructions to download, install and configure the free community server. 
• The J2SE Software Development Kit, i.e. JSDK1.5 (1.5.0_15 is recommended)   - JAVA_HOME must point to the JSDK 1.5 installation and $JAVA_HOME/bin must be in PATH. The SamePage installer comes bundled with the JRE but if you prefer to download and install Java separately, the download is available on this page.

Please retain all database related information with you before starting the installation. This includes database SID (in oracle) or database name (in MySQL), user, password and IP address of machine on which database is running. Also make sure the bin directory of JSDK 1.5 is your system path, and JAVA_HOME is set pointing to JSDK 1.5 installation.
