Who should read this document
System Administrators who have knowledge about Oracle or MySQL(
 in SamePage 3.3) and Java setup and configuration.
Installation Package
The samepage.exe (for Windows) and samepage.zip (for Linux) files contain binaries for eTouch SamePage, the bundled version of Tomcat and customized version of CVS binary for Windows and Linux respectively.
Pre-requisite
Before you get started, make sure you have installed and configured the following software:
- Oracle Database 9i/10g. If you do not have Oracle, here are instructions to download and install the free Oracle 10g XE.(or) MySQL 5.0 Community server - Generally Available(GA) Release
- The J2SE Software Development Kit, i.e. JSDK1.4 (1.4.2_13 is recommended) - JAVA_HOME must point to the JSDK 1.4 installation and $JAVA_HOME/bin must be in PATH. The SamePage installer for windows comes bundled with the JRE but if you prefer to download and install Java separately, the download is available on this page. Linux users, please see here. Please retain all database related information with you before starting the installation. This includes database SID, user, password and IP address of machine on which oracle is running. Also make sure the bin directory of JSDK 1.4 is your system path, and JAVA_HOME is set pointing to JSDK 1.4 installation.
