The 3.5 release is a minor version release of SamePage that incorporates support for internationalization of the UI, new team blogging features, blog support in MySQL and ticket assignment.
Following are the new features/changes introduced in this version:
Internationalized UI - In release 3.4, in the first phase of Internationalization, we started supporting user-generated content in multiple languages . With this release, all UI elements of SamePage including navigation menus, links and messages have been internationalized which means they are now packaged as resource-bundles. Resource bundles for languages other than English will be made available through this support site. Please note that the blog component of SamePage is not yet internationalized.
- For On-premise instances of SamePage, the SamePage Admin can choose to support multiple locales. They would need to download additional resource bundles from this support site (French and Polish will be available soon) or they can even choose to create their own translations for localization.
- For the On-Demand version , we will soon be offering French and Polish interfaces out-of-the-box . Domain administrators can choose to restrict specific locales for their domain.
- For both On-Premise and On-Demand, end-users can always choose their default locale from the available selection.
Team Blogging - The blog functionality in SamePage has been enhanced to allow multiple users to post to one blog. The blog owner can delegate the permissions to post or just submit posts for review. This is very useful in marketing blogs or developer blogs where a team of users would be involved in blogging.
Blog Support for MySQL - From release 3.3 onwards, we started supporting MySQL database for SamePage minus the blog functionality. With this release, we have started supporting the Blog functionality also for MySQL.
Support Ticket Assignment - The support ticket functionality in SamePage has been enhanced to allow tickets to be assigned to specific members within the project. This provides you with the flexibility to use this as a simple task management system.
New Plugins - As a part of our efforts to constantly increase the number of out-of-the-box plugins, this release of SamePage will feature plugins for Google Gadgets and external DB plugin. Please note that these plugins will not be bundled with the release but can be downloaded from the support site.
Minor Fixes and Enhancements - You will notice quite a a few minor fixes and enhancements in this release.
- Project owners can decide the depth of hierarchy shown by default in the Project Hierarchy page.
- Project owners can also delete comments on any page.
- Notification emails will also be sent for news updates. End users can choose to receive news notifications.
- Short URL does not contain the port number if it is the default port 80.
- LDAP Integration module has been enhanced to support multiple base DNs for user and group searchbase.
- Email address format is now allowed in the username field .
- A couple of new themes (Forest, Spring) are now available for users to choose from. The Classic theme has been discontinued starting this release.
Bug Fixes - This version of SamePage fixes a number of minor/major bugs reported by users as well as discovered by our QA team.
