eTouch SamePage supports Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and above on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Platforms. You need to enable Javascript, CSS and Images to work with eTouch SamePage. eTouch SamePage supports several global accesskeys to support keyboard navigation. These keys are

Installing SamePage on Windows


1. Click on the download link for the SamePage 3.X executable.


2. Save this file to your local machine.


3. Double-click on the samepage_X_X_X_X_X.exe file on your local machine, and click Run.


4. You will see a Welcome screen. Click Next.


5. You will see a screen with information on SamePage. Click Next.


6. You will see a screen with the License Agreement. Click on the radio button next to "I accept the agreement" and click Next.


7. You will be asked for a folder name under the Start Menu. Choose an appropriate folder name and click Next.


8. You will be asked for a destination directory for SamePage. Choose an appropriate destination and click Next.


  Do not have spaces in the name of the directory, or any of its parent directories where you want to install eTouch SamePage.
E.g. do not install it in C:\Program  Files\SamePage


9. You will be asked whether you want the installer to install JRE or if you would prefer to point JAVA_HOME to an existing install. If you are not sure about the java version installed on your computer, it is recommended that you choose to install JRE. For production installs, we recommend downloading the Java SDK instead of using the bundled JRE since it gives you more optimization options.


10. In the same screen, you will be asked to assign minimum and maximum memory for the JVM. If you are not sure, it is recommended that you leave the default values of 128 MB and 256 MB. For production installs, you may need to assign more memory.  Click Next.


11. You will be asked to choose the database. Choose between Oracle and MySQL(Starting version 3.3, SamePage is supported on MySQL)


12. If you choose the Oracle 10g Express edition, please make sure that you have given DB privileges to this user . If you need detailed instructions on installing Oracle 10g Express, click here.


13. You will be asked to enter the database properties. Enter the username and password that you configured while installing Oracle 10g.


  Database properties example for Oracle

      DB User Name: [Your username for eg, 'samepage']
      DB Password: [Your password for eg, 'samepage']
   Connection URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE
      Database  name:  [Same as Oracle SID, for eg 'XE']


14. If you choose MySQL ,please be sure that you have giver DB privilages to its users. If you need detailed instructions on installing MySQL, click here.

Note:Samepage requires InnoDB engine for MySQL because it supports transactions. The default MyISAM engine does not support transactions and hence cannot be used as the MySQL database engine for SamePage.For instructions to install MySQL with the InnoDB engine click here.




15. You will be asked to enter the database properties . Enter the username and password that you configured while installing MySQL.

Database properties example for MySQL
      DB User Name: [Your username for eg, 'samepage']
      DB Password: [Your password for eg, 'samepage']
      Connection URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/samepage
      Database Name: [The DB name that you previously configured, for eg, 'samepage']


15. You will be asked to configure your host parameters. For the host name, if you do not know the IP address or server name, you can specify localhost or 127.0.0.1. Choose appropriate values and click Next. 


13. You will be asked if you intend to install SamePage as a service. Choose Yes or No, and click Next.


Note: If you choose to install SamePage as a service please make sure that cvs and cvsnt are not present in your path.


14. Please confirm the accuracy of all information collected thus far, and click Next.


15. If the installer detects an existing schema, you will be prompted to drop and recreate the schema. Click  Yes.


16. You will see a final confirmation screen. Click Finish.


17. If you see an error screen instead of the final confirmation screen, please check the installer logs.


18. Before using SamePage, please confirm that you have obtained a license and copied it to the /cm/web-inf/lib/conf directory under your install directory. Please email samepage-support@etouch.net if you need a license or need clarification on this issue.


Instructions for starting SamePage 3.X



You can start SamePage in one of 3 ways:

1. If you have installed SamePage as a service, locate it in your list of Services, and start it.(The service name is 'eTouch Same Page'). You can then access it from your browser by typing in your local host URL -- for eg, http://localhost:18080/cm. If you are integrating the SamePage service with your corporate LDAP, click here for additional details.


2. If you have created a folder under the Start Menu, you can access it and click on SamePage Start. Then, you can then access SamePage from your browser by typing in your local host URL -- for eg, http://localhost:18080/cm.


3. You can manually start SamePage by double-clicking on the startup.bat file located in the /tomcat/bin directory under the installation directory. for e.g. if you installed SamePage under "C:/samepage", you can find startup.bat under "C:/samepage/tomcat/bin". Then, you can then access SamePage from your browser by typing in your local host URL -- for eg, http://localhost:18080/cm.

 

 

 

Note: You can login into SamePage by using the default username and password. The default Username is "system" and password is "password".
